Have a look!

A proper introduction

I've been writing about Pinterest and it's pros and cons before, and today I realized once again that using Pinterest sometimes is a funny thing. I received an email with some beautiful images from Swedish designers Marit Lissdaniels & Angelica Utterberg of Little Studio, and when I looked at the images I noticed that these were images that I had already seen all over Pinterest and in fact had been pinning to my inspiration boards myself, without really knowing who was behind those beautiful products and photography. Well, I know now: it's Little studio, and I thought it would be a nice thing to properly introduce them here today!

Little studio designs and sells a variety of products, with a focus on colorful prints, but you can also find pillowcases, trays and cutting boards in their online shop. So let's visit that lovely shop first and then pin their gorgeous product images later!

Ja, heel mooi. Vooral de kussens, ik had ze ook al gezien (of gepinned) op Pinterest.

Hi Nina,
SO cool for you to credit LITTLE STUDIO.  love their geometric patterns!
Well Nina, I read your post about the pros and cons of pinterest. Agree wholeheartedly with your comments. I appreciate the attempt to link back to an original source, but am finding that the concept of "collecting photos" may dismiss and diminish the hard hard work and copyright of the original creators themselves.

@ Teri: I think I understand what you mean. On the other hand isn't this what people always do? Collecting favorite images, making a scrapbook, a moodboard... I don't really see a bad thing in that. But I do feel that with pinterest everything quickly becomes 'just an image' that you can freely pick and use, and that doesn't always feel right. But it's a difficult thing. For example for me as an artist: on the one hand pinterest offers me traffic to my blog and people share my work with others, which potentially brings me new customers. On the other hand I see my work pop up in boards with titles such as 'DIY ideas' and sometimes people literally write that they're going to try and copy a design exactly. But what can you do? Everything that's out there can be used and copied, I guess that's unavoidable. So I try to focus on the positive side of it and not pay too much attention to the bad parts.

I am in agreement with you. I see quite a lot of positives including the traffic.  But also, the platform is quite ideal as a user and maker of "inspiration boards" - bringing me ease that no other website or concept has.
Like you,  I find lots of designs from my business popping up in people's DIY FOLDERS as well.
Thank you for broaching this issue. It will be very interesting to see what happens 2 years form now or 10 years from now.  The question this all raises for me is:  How will people's original ideas be valued? How will the idea makers themselves be valued?

About Ninainvorm

I'm Nina, ceramics designer, art/ craft/ design lover and mom of Rosa and Julie. This blog is about the things I make (you can find my online shop here) and the things I love (design, art, craft, interior, fashion, photography). You may have noticed a special emphasis on my two beautiful girls and everything children's design related!

There used to be a second blog on children's clothing, Coolkidsclothes, but it's currently sort of asleep and all the images have vanished temporarily, but I hope to revitalize it real soon.

Meanwhile, lovely children's clothing will be an important part of this blog here as well.
