Have a look!

A dreamy house

A while ago I discovered a very nice blog called Kootut murut, written by Finnish illustrator/graphic designer Jutta. She recently started renovating a fifty-year-old home called a rintamamiestalo (which sounds very interesting to me but probably makes a lot of sense in Finnish!), and documents all the steps in her beautiful renovation process on her blog. I really like the dreamy, creative atmosphere she creates in her home, and how I love it to see one of my very favorite Osborne & Little wallpapers in Jutta's home!

daar zou ik wel eens rond willen struinen met mijn camera; wat een heerlijk huis. dat konijnenlampje is heel lief, maar beetje spooky als je het licht aan doet.

I think she means a kind of house where land was bought so lots of people would be able to get their own little piece where they could build their own houses subventioned for some years in the 50's. We have a lot of them in Sweden too and they're quite lovely and popular. Here they are called egnahem. But mind you, I could be wrong!

I adore this!  Those dreamy looking cloudy cabinets are so fun and the wallpaper is  incredible.  Wishing our home had a little more character and age to it.  I have loved this blog for a while now too.  I am not sure if I found the link through you or somewhere else.  Happy weekend!  Enjoy!

Rintamamiestalo, frontmannahus in Swedish, is a house built after the second world war. The soldiers who had lost their homes and land got a new piece of land and a blueprint of a house. They built the house by them selves. Rintamamiestalo translatedcould be something like this:front-soldier-house.

About Ninainvorm

I'm Nina, ceramics designer, art/ craft/ design lover and mom of Rosa and Julie. This blog is about the things I make (you can find my online shop here) and the things I love (design, art, craft, interior, fashion, photography). You may have noticed a special emphasis on my two beautiful girls and everything children's design related!

There used to be a second blog on children's clothing, Coolkidsclothes, but it's currently sort of asleep and all the images have vanished temporarily, but I hope to revitalize it real soon.

Meanwhile, lovely children's clothing will be an important part of this blog here as well.
